I'll keep it simple at this time... UNIONS ARE A WASTE OF YOUR HARD WORKING MONEY "PERIOD"! when you call on them to help THEY DO NOT HAVE YOUR BACK! even if they seem like they do they are for the companies... ALL WAYS take notes trust only YOU! Just keeping it honest ... when you get hurt, sick, injured.. just assume if a company wants you gone your gone & the union won't stop it.. sorry but facts

Do not talk to the companies. Talk to a shop steward, and have your union rep on speed dial. Literally. Not bad, is what you make it. They do their job and the union rep is very very down to earth. At least as of now.

Not sure the purpose of paying Union dues, since I found out my ex employer shorted my check in a big way and the Union served their grievance form but said the employer still feels they are right. That's all my Union could help with now its the Labor Board side....talking about standing up as One Union (right), wrong they cant do anything else. Invest your 330 fee into something more useful, like a guard card or go to college part time...at least you will get something out of that money spent.

Folks complaining about paying union fees without any support - look for local union reps on your jobsite. Unions make sure to have representation for all locations covered, and if they don't, make a formal complaint to the teamsters about it. Solidarity brothers and sisters

When they couldn't come to an agreement with one of my old companies they just left us high and dry. Pay all them dues to be left in the cold.
